Self-Study Course


Beginning a course and a personal practice in mindfulness and mindfulness meditation begins with experience more so than with information. In this course, you will be introduced to what mindfulness is and to the benefits of a mindfulness practice. You will also be invited to experience mindfulness for yourself and to connect your experience to your new learning.

This course is self-study/ self-paced and includes guided meditations, mindfulness activities and a class workbook. This workbook has been specially designed to help you develop your own daily mindfulness practice and includes pages for journaling, writing prompts, self-guided meditations, and supplementary information on physical and emotional aspects of developing mindfulness.










Mindfulness Meditation

You will learn the fundamentals of mindfulness meditation in this course.

Mindfulness in Motion

You will learn techniques for bringing mindfulness into daily activities such as walking, eating, and conversations.

(Self) Compassion

You will learn about mindfulness of emotions, anxiety and the role of compassion for self and others along with loving kindness.

Hi, I'm Kim



I am a long time practitioner of meditation and a certified Meditation Instructor teaching Mindfulness based practices. My meditation journey begin in 1986 in the Zen tradition of concentration meditation. Since then, I have studied Mindfulness meditation, Insight meditation (shamatha- vipashyana), open-monitoring meditation, and loving kindness/ self-compassion meditation (Metta). I have mentored hundreds of students, and in my meditation instruction, I combine both depth of practice with practical tools for growth.

What really qualifies me to teach meditation is that I have learned, first hand, the real life benefits that meditation can bring, as I have struggled at times to push through the muddy margins of life toward growth and peace. Most of all, perhaps, I know the value of keeping a beginner's mind.
